New report highlights women business owners’ success in Delaware

Delaware a top state for women business owners

A new American Express report shows the success women are finding in starting and growing businesses in Delaware.

Delaware ranks #4 in the U.S. when it comes to women business owners increasing their economic clout between 2007 and 2018, according to American Express’ eighth annual State of Women-Owned Business Report.

Economic clout includes the number of businesses owned by women, their revenue and number of employees.

Delaware also tied for #5 with Virginia in employment vitality which measures employment growth at women-owned businesses.

The American Express report follows a Paychex report showing Delaware ranks #1 in the U.S. in the number of businesses owned by minority women per 100,000 residents and #2 in the number of minority-owned businesses per 100,000 residents.
