New program to offer translations for Latino biz owners

Spanish-speaking business owners seeking assistance from the Delaware Division of Small Business will now be able to obtain free translation services thanks to a partnership between the Division and of Small Business and $tand By Me Negocios, a program of $tand By Me Delaware.

Approximately 9 percent of people living in Delaware are Hispanic. And according to the Pew Research Center, more than two-thirds of them speak Spanish at home.
Interpreters provided by $tand By Me Negocios will be available to assist Spanish-speaking business owners when they meet with Division of Small Business staff including the Division’s five Regional Business Managers who work one-on-one with people looking to start or grow a small business.

Our Regional Business Managers cover each of Delaware’s three counties. Click here to learn more about our Regional Business Managers. Or click here for more information about how the Division works with MWVBE’s, including launching specific councils for minorities, women and veterans to get their feedback about which services the Division can offer that would best address their needs..

$tand By Me Negocios officials also will refer their clients in need of small business resources to the Division under the partnership.

The organization has been providing Delawareans with personal financial coaching since 2011. It offers one-on-one assistance to help people become financially independent.
