A Wilmington restaurant and a chef from a restaurant in Lewes are contenders for the prestigious James Beard Awards, it was announced Wednesday.
Bardea Food & Drink on Market Street in downtown Wilmington is a semifinalist for Best New Restaurant.
Matthew Kern of Heirloom in Lewes is a semifinalist in the Best Chef, Mid-Atlantic category.
The finalists will be announced on March 27 and the winners named in Chicago on May 6.
