Looking for free entrepreneurship training? Check out Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses

Do you want to take your small business up a notch?

Apply for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, a free, 13-week business skills course offered at the Community College of Philadelphia.

The program uses curriculum developed by Babson College, one of the nation’s top schools for entrepreneurship.

Participants work one-on-one with business advisers to develop a customized plan for growing their business. They also get access to alumni of the program and a network of experts on a variety of business topics.

The Goldman Sachs Foundation underwrites the cost of the program so it is tuition-free.

To date, 12 Delaware companies have participated in the program, said James Haile Jr., director of partnership and outreach.

The program is open to the owner or co-owner of the business.

The business must meet the following requirements:

  • Be in business for at least 2 years
  • Have annual revenue of at least $150,000
  • Have at least four employees, including the business owner (includes full-time, part-time, freelancers and consultants)

The course starts January 16.

Applications must be submitted by October 14, Haile said.

An information session will be held on Oct. 9 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. at Community College of Philadelphia.
