The University of Delaware School of Professional and Continuing Studies and the Delaware Restaurant Association are partnering to offer an 8-week online course to train restaurant managers in human resource issues such as hiring and retaining workers, employee development and workplace safety.

The next cohort runs from Feb. 16 to April 13 .

The course is free to the first 30 Delaware residents. The price is $995 for others with discounts available.

The course will be taught by:

• Katherine Witherspoon Fry, adjunct professor at the University of Delaware and an attorney at Offit Kurman
• Dr. Ali Poorani, associate professor and director of the Hospitality Associates for Research & Training Program at UD
• Rosanne Sawyer, CHRO and executive vice president, human resources, NAMSA
