The Histo rically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Program helps small busi nesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to fede ral procurement opportunities. The mission is to promote job growth\, and capital investment to small businesses located in these economical ly distressed communities. The HUBZone program fuels small business gr owth in historically underutilized business zones with a goal of award ing at least three percent (3%) of federal contract dollars to HUBZone -certified companies each year. SBA has made it easier for qualified s mall businesses to participate in the HUBZone program.
