First Founders Accelerator, a 12-week program that trains entrepreneurs of color and people from underrepresented communities how to build a business, graduated its first class recently.
The program is a collaboration between New Castle County Office of Economic Development, the Emerging Enterprise Center at New Castle County Chamber of Commerce, co-working space 1313 Innovation and Wilmington-based entrepreneur Garry Johnson III.
The first graduates of the program are:
Ireida Grabill of Language Liasions, a Wilmington-based language translations firm.
Constance Miles of TaMiCaRA Designs, which designs women’s ready-to-wear fashions
Kemba Hall, of HairSense, a haircare firm.
Moises Velazquez of Yummie Creative, an advertising and marketing firm.
Michael Shumate of Keyhole Games, developer of a video game called “The Outcasts: Guardian Angel.”
Geronimo Vannicola of WavLabs Studios, a music recording studio.
William Young and Amy Sassaman of Black Diamond, a branding and event firm.
