A new business park planned for Smyrna could bring 4,000 jobs to the area, the project’s developer told the News Journal.
Chestertown, Md.-based KRM Development Corp. plans to begin construction of the first buildings at Duck Creek Business Campus early next year, KRM vice president Bryan Matthews told the newspaper.
The 206-acre complex will be located between U.S. 13 and Del. 1.
The business park’s economic impact could reach $477 million, Matthews said.
Most of the jobs will be in warehouse-distribution, he told the News Journal.
Linda Parkowski, executive director of the Kent Economic Partnership told the News Journal she thinks the project could generate more than 4,000 jobs.
The organization’s focus includes attracting more warehouse-distribution jobs to Kent County.
