As Delaware battles Coronavirus some small businesses are pivoting from their normal activities to produce needed medical and health supplies.
Painted Stave Distillery in Smryna is now, in addition to Silver Screen Vodka and Candy Manor Gin, manufacturing hand sanitizer for police and other first responders.
“We’re focusing on getting this out to first responders, law enforcement, the medical community, folks who are on the front lines and interacting with a lot of [people],” Painted Stave co-owner Mike Rasmussen told the Dover Post.
The distillery partnered with the Smyrna Police Department recently to fill 2,000 four-ounce bottles, which were distributed free to Smyrna residents.
First responders or other organization looking to purchase hand sanitizer for $35 for a gallon jug, which covers the production cost, can contact Rasmussen at mike@paintedstave.com.
Painted Stave isn’t the only local craft beverage maker helping to battle Coronavirus.
Dogfish Head Brewery is producing hand sanitizer for the state of Delaware.
If your business can produce a product that can help combat Coronavirus, the state of Delaware wants to hear from you.
