MWUL stems from the National Urban League, which is a nonprofit, community based movement centered on the empowerment of urban cities. There is a heavy focus on economic self-sufficiency and education, which is why MWUL offers programs in job training, business development, home-ownership, entrepreneurship, and wealth accumulation. Many of their programs are tailored minorities, and assist them through financial training and providing access to resources they may have otherwise not known existed.
