Sports Tourism Coordinator

Description
As an employee of the Delaware Tourism Office, the Sports Tourism Coordinator is responsible
for attracting, managing, and retaining profitable sports-related business opportunities for the
state of Delaware. This position will work closely with the Sports Sales Leader to promote each
county as a destination for regional, national, and international sporting events. The primary
mission is to increase economic impact to the state while developing enough tentative business
to support future quotas.

Essential Functions/Duties
• Cultivate new and strengthen existing customer relationships to generate new and repeat
business opportunities, with a focus on non-traditional and smaller-scale sporting events, as
directed by the Sports Sales Leader.
• In collaboration with the Sports Sales Leader, develop and manage a targeted account list.
Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities that align with booking criteria
and market strategy.
• Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders across Delaware,
including serving as a liaison with local hotels, venues, and sports facilities.
• Collaborate with local hotel, venue, and facility teams to create comprehensive proposals and
bids tailored to client needs, ensuring alignment with overall sales and sports market
strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of accounts, contacts, and booking activity in the CRM system.
Prior experience with CRM software is preferred but not required.
• Conduct site visits of area hotels, venues, and facilities with prospective and existing clients.
• Support administrative tasks related to performance metrics, including the preparation of
reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders on sports-related activities.
• Assist in updating and enhancing the sports section of the Delaware Tourism Office (DTO)
website, as well as other marketing efforts.
• Represent DTO at trade shows, conferences, and related events to promote Delaware as a
sporting event destination and attract future business.
• Remain current on Delaware’s sports infrastructure, hotel inventory, and organizational
developments, as well as national trends in sports events and facility innovation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelors level education or above.
• Relevant work and/or educational experience to the needs of the position.
• Basic knowledge of Delaware’s and National sports landscape.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Details
The position is a full time, exempt position within the state of Delaware. New hire will have
access to state health benefits and vacation/sick time consistent with state on-boarding
policies.

The salary range for this position is $40,446 – $60,670, commensurate with experience. Primary
work location will be the Division of Small Business office at 99 Kings Highway, Dover,

DSB Program Manager

Programs Manager

Description
Our goal at the Division of Small Business is to make Delaware the #1 state in the nation
for small businesses. The Programs Manager plays a dual role in advancing this mission:
ensuring the continuity, integrity, and day-to-day execution of DSB’s core programs, and
serving as the Division’s primary social media presence.

The Programs Manager serves as the institutional knowledge holder and operational
backbone across DSB’s active programs including but not limited to: EDGE 2.0, Delaware
Grocery Initiative, SSBCI, and the Commercial Corridor Program alongside owning the
Division’s public-facing social media content. This position serves as a backup Regional
Business Manager when needed to ensure continuity of service and statewide alignment.

Essential Functions/Duties
Programs Manager is expected to perform the following tasks:
• Manage DSB’s social media presence, including developing and maintaining a
content calendar, executing day-to-day posts across all Division platforms, and
tracking basic performance metrics. All content subject to final approval by the
Deputy Director or Director.
• Serve as the institutional knowledge holder for all active DSB programs, including
EDGE 2.0, the Delaware Grocery Initiative, SSBCI, and the Commercial Corridor
Program, ensuring no program cycle stalls due to capacity gaps and opportunities
for small businesses to scale throughout the state.
• Support status tracking, and communications during active program cycles, routing
all final decisions through the Director or Deputy Director.
• Proactively monitor program timelines, flag process gaps and timeline risks to
leadership, and maintain documented program procedures to enable continuity
during staff transitions.
• Identify social media content opportunities from program activity, awardee
milestones, and events, and coordinate with the Design Manager to ensure content
is supported by on-brand visual assets.
• Act as a statewide floater to support Business Manager coverage gaps as needed.
• Attend staff meetings as needed with the business managers and marketing team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelors level education or above.
• Relevant work and/or educational experience to the needs of the position.
• Basic knowledge of Delaware’s small business landscape and of common government
regulatory processes.
• Experience managing social media platforms for an organization, business, or
government agency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The salary range for this position is $72,166 – $90,207 commensurate with experience.
Primary work location will be the Division of Small Business Dover office at 99 Kings
