About this Organization

The Department of Finance is an executive agency headed by a cabinet secretary appointed by the governor. The secretary is the state's chief financial officer and is responsible along with the rest of the department for promoting Delaware's fiscal health by generating, collecting, and accounting for funds used to fund all services provided by the state government. The DOF is the source of economic and fiscal policy and is responsible for managing the state's fiscal resources. The department, particularly the Division of Revenue, also administers several resources used to promote state-wide economic development efforts.

Alternative Investment Credit Required for Telecommunication Services

A tax credit that incentivizes companies in the telecommunication services industry to hire new employees

Business Finders Fee Tax Credit

A credit designed to incentivize Delaware businesses to form relationships and partnerships with non-Delaware businesses and encourage their relocation or expansion to Delaware

Industrial Public Utility Tax Credit

Available for qualified industrial firms

New Business Facility Corporate Income Tax Credit

A tax credit that incentivizes corporations to expand operations by establishing new facilities.

Research and Development Tax Credits

A credit available for small businesses with research and development expenses

Veteransâ€™ Opportunity Credit

An incentive in the form of a refundable credit to hire military veterans who served active duty after 2001. Can be applied against bank franchise tax, corporate or personal income tax, or insurance general premium tax

Work Opportunity / Tax Credit (WOTC)

A credit designed to promote and assist people with moving from welfare to employment
